There is only one month left of the 810-run campaign. We still have 3,000 km to go before we reach 4,000 km.

We are looking forward to achieving this goal together.

During the next attempt, three prizes will be offered.

The period is from March 3rd, the day of the Doll festival, to March 31^st, 2021.

We hope that as many of you as possible will be able to participate.

Many people have participated in this event since the 810-run start, and we have accomplished our goal which is 810 km! Thank you very much for your cooperation.

There are those who connected with us for their  “daily exercise” as  support and those who joined with their families. The messages we received from everyone gave us a lot of enthusiasm.

We have achieved our original goal. However, we would like to set a new goal to go even further with everyone we connected with virtually, and with those who haven’t yet taken part.

Our next goal is 4,000 km! It is the distance between Laos and Japan, and this is about 5 as far as 810 km.

We are part way there; four more times and we can reach Laos! Let’s run and walk to Laos!

By end of March, please join us for our second goal.

Due to Covid-19, our daily life has completely changed. It’s not a faraway issue happening to someone else; this is a problem we are all facing right here and now. Stopping infection rates and transmission are vital in stopping this pandemic. But if the isolation and massive change we have experienced has taught us anything, it’s that to be healthy, the heart and mind are just as important as the body.

So, join our international community and participate in our Virtual Charity Run to help us meet our goal of running 810km together. While we cannot all meet physically, we can connect virtually! You can join our event by registering to walk, run, or make a donation.  

Half of the donations contributed by generous supporters like you will be donated to Dandanbar(https://dandanbar.jimdofree.com/). Dandanbar is a non-profit organization based in Mitaka city, Tokyo, that provides a place where children can eat, play, and feel safe. These places are very important for children in need, and your support will allow them to continue their valuable work. The remainder of the funds raised will be used for coronavirus countermeasures at Lao Friends Hospital for Children in Laos.

Why 810km?

Friends Without A Border Japan is a non-profit, non-government organization that provides free, quality medical care of international standards to the children of Southeast Asia. Our guiding motto is “treat ever patient as if your own child,” and our aim is providing compassionate care. In Japanese, the number 810 sounds like “heart,” so we set our goal for this run to reflect the symbol of our mission: the green heart. This symbol represents the sense of heart and compassion with which we treat people, and the green color symbolizes young leaves, representing our wish for children to grow up strong and live a vibrant life.

How to join

There are two ways to participate and you can join anytime during this campaign. Choose Option A, Option B, or both (see below). FWAB Japan staff will also join this campaign. Akao Kazumi, representative of FWAB Japan and Emi Nagano, FWAB Japan staff member, will both participate by running, and donate 1,000 yen each time they run.

Please join us in whatever way you can.

1) Option A: Participate by running or walking

Please download a running application and measure your distance. Send the results (screenshot or screen copy) to FWAB Japan. If it is difficult to measure the distance by app, you can let us know the expected distance via email. Please send us your photos or videos of running or walking and scenery, if possible. We are also happy to receive your messages to medical professionals, your family, your friends, or yourself! Photos, videos and messages that we receive will be displayed on our website and SNS.

2) Option B: Help by making a donation

Both credit card and bank transfer are acceptable. Please follow the form and enter your information. When you click the payment site, the server might ask you if you need translation into another language automatically. Please use translation. They ask for your name twice, so please enter your name again (or any letter instead of your name) for the second section.
